About HealthAndCreativity.com
This site aims to explore the connections and relationships between different health-supporting practices. Our definition of 'health-supporting' includes, but is not limited to:
  • Alternative/complementary health (acupuncture, homeopathy, etc.)
  • Nutrition (cooked vs. raw, supplimentation, etc.)
  • Mind/Body practices (yoga, qigong, etc.)
  • Self Development (Hypnosis, NLP, etc.)

You get the picture - but we're not just talking about physical health, but emotional, mental and creative too. We believe that there is a strong link between the ability to express oneself creatively and one's long term physical and mental health.

So, if you're new to this kind of thing, where do you start? These days, there are so many practices to try and investigate that it's almost impossible to know where to begin. Each method has its own merits and rarely is it considered how it fits into the bigger picture and how it relates to other offerings that may seem similar.

We believe that many of these practices share common underlying principles - in spite of their different origins. With so much rich knowledge from different cultures and secret traditions now becoming exposed to a global audience, we have an unprecedented opportunity to search for deep commonalities and shared phenomena.

There are risks to this. It is not enough to simply blend one practice with another in a rash attempt to modernise them. This would only dilute their power. Full understanding must be present before reform is attempted and this requires knowledge gained from deep experience. Intellectual understanding is not enough.

As deeper understanding is gained, we anticipate that 'greater wholes' will emerge, uniting disparate disciplines at the roots and opening a new chapter in the life sciences.

We can all help this process -
  • continue or start your own 'health-supporting' practice,
  • remain open-minded to others,
  • look for similarities in other practices and collect empirical evidence,
  • share your experiences and,
  • if you feel motivated enough, conduct your own research.

So, if you have experience or knowledge that will help this process - let us know! Otherwise - enjoy the site!
