Reflexology usually centres on massaging the extremities in order to promote healing in other parts of the body. Most commonly a reflexologist will massage the feet or hands.

Specific areas on the foot are supposed to correspond with other parts of the body, such as the lungs, heart liver etc., and so massaging these areas is claimed to improve the health of those corresponding parts. The figure to the right gives a simplified representation.

How can reflexology help you?

As with a normal massage, you will generally feel more relaxed after a session. Also you may experience some improvement in other health issues, though this cannot be guaranteed. As session is typically a pleasant experience. 

How long will a reflexology massage last?

Typically from 30minutes to an hour, as with a back or full body massage.

What are the origins of Reflexology?

No-one knows for sure, and reflexology massage seems to feature in the ancient history of many cultures. However, one theory suggests it can be traced back to China over 5000 years ago.
