Yoga is the original holistic system. The word yoga means to "join together", and refers to its ability to unify the mind and body. Dating back over 5000 years, yoga practice focusses on exercise, beathing and meditation.

Yoga exercises are performed to put pressure on the glandular systems, increase circulation and stimulate the abdominal organs, thereby increasing the efficiency of the body.

The yoga student learns to regulate and increase conscious control of their breathing patterns.

These two practices help prepare the body and mind for meditation which is the third element of the practice.
